"Congrats on your Gold Award. I got to see first hand what you are capable of when you rebuilt my 748 last summer. It is running like a dream and I want to thank you again for the excellent work and outstanding customer service you offered me. You have a customer for life"

VIR Help

"... as most of you know I have had some issues with my 1098R . It supposedly came to me all ready to go but I found out this was not the case quite quickly (and should not have been a surprise based on where I got it.) I could not get comfortable on it at all in the spring and a quick look over by Donnie indicated the suspension was off. So off to the shop it went and the next time I rode at NJMP, it was like a different bike. It still is a little high effort to turn in but after he set it up with a good baseline with my weight, etc. I felt much more comfortable (the front was set way to soft and the rear way to stiff.) I also started noticing the bike would shudder badly if I tried to accelerate hard from anything below about 5500rpm. Donnie put on a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket and that helped some but it was still there. Back to Ducpond where he discovered that nothing in the FI or electronics had been touched from the factory other than installing the race ECU and Termi exhaust. He went through it optimizing everything he could and although it did not seem to make much difference on the dyno printout, the next time I took it out it was like getting a second new bike. The shuddering and hesitation was completely gone and I was finally able to start getting some confidence back at the fall VIR event instead of having to ride around problems. It still runs a bit lean according to the printout and it erks me a bit that there is no way to adjust the Ducati race ECU but Donnie is looking into some alternatives and solutions that won’t eliminate the TC or break the bank for next year.

You might also recall I left early on Tuesday because the dash shutdown and it would not run. It seemed like a loose connection to me but after going through every connection and electrical component I could get to, I could not get it going so I left early enough to drive straight to Ducpond before going home. Thanks to Julia for staying open a few minutes late as I did not get there until right before they were to close. After trying a new dash that Ducati supplied under warranty, it still did not work. With a little more detective work, Donnie found that the connections to one of the fuses was badly corroded and had a weak connection that was causing the problem (I can just see Cecchini’s eyes rolling as he reads this) so once he fixed that, the issue was gone. It appears to have just been badly done at the factory and should not happen again. Now I wish I had another day on the track coming up, but it looks like it will have to wait till after the first of the year. Anyone up for an event down south (Barber or Jennings) in January or February?

Bottom line is I wish I would have taken the bike to Donnie to go through everything in the first place as it would have saved a lot of money and track time over the course of this year. I live 5 minutes and 45 minutes from 2 Ducati dealers but I choose to drive 1.5 hours each way to get Donnie to work on my bikes and will continue to do so based on the great experience and work he has done for me in the past. Heck, I may even let him work on my Vespa again!!

F4 service

"Just a little kudos to you and Jon for taking such good care of my F4 when it was in for service last week. It was a slightly chilly ride home, but thrilling, nonetheless.

Lowering the ride height helped me out tremendously when stopped, as well as getting on and off the motorcycle. Nor have I noticed any ill effects in ride or handling from this adjustment.

Thank Jon for keeping us entertained while we were waiting for you to open, and for asking about my tire pressure before taking the bike out of the shop for the ride home.

That was truly a professional touch! Just goes to tell me how detail
oriented the man is when dealing with these fine machines. Receiving the motorcycle clean after a service also did not go unnoticed.

You have a very nice facility there, with obviously a staff that is
dedicated to their jobs and their boss. A very unique place for very unique motorcycles. Cozy and friendly instead of cold and intimidating.

You know I will do anything I can to send business your way whenever an opportunity arises."

honest advice

"I want to thank you for your assistance and candor yesterday when I called about a Multistrada 620. Although you did not have one in stock, you took time to help me and offer advice. This commitment to customer satisfaction is why many feel your shop is one of the best in the county. In the coming weeks/months as I search for a quality used MTS620, I feel reassured that I have a shop where I could bring a potential purchase and know that I am receiving frank and honest advice. Thanks again."

Roadtripper

"I was the guy who rode down the other weekend from NYC with the out of balance rear tire on my monster. Thanks for fixing my bike on the fly and for your hospitality and friendly service. Too bad there's not as Duc Pond here in Brooklyn."

Another satisfied customer

"Had my ST3 out to DucPond for 24K service and some mods, the short story is, if you don't want to read more, the bike is running/handling awesome. I also had a list of items for Donnie to check out/change. First up was some weird handling that I had experienced last summer. I had put a Pilot Power on the front and a pilot road in the rear and just before the Mystery Trip, they put a Power on the rear, defintely made a difference(this had worked on the M900 but the ST3 does not like this combination) but there was still some weird feel to the front end and it was bouncing up and down at speeds above 80 MPH. Looks like the big problem might have been the steering head bearings they were shot - big time. The suspension was also not as tight a feel as I like, so that got service and corrected. Then while out there dropping the bike off for service I had noticed he had a good deal on some Carrozzeria Forged Aluminum Wheels, and naturally that lead to new sprockets and chain, s o I went up 3 teeth in the back. In anticipation of my long trip in the spring to the Springfield Mile, then over to Miller for the WSBK I had found out from Gray Eagan the grips and throttle lock he uses and had purchased those for the drone across the plains to Denver and had that installed. Anyway it was a lot of work and just looking at all that was done I was struck by not only the quality, but how few hours it was vs me trying to do it, not to mention the low shop rate compared to other shops in the area. So yesterday had a chance to take her for a ride with 6 other riders from MAD, the roads still had some damp spots so lean angles were somewhat conservative but by the time we got down to Rt. 218 east of Fredericksburg I got a chance to stretch her legs a little on the wonderful piece of asphalt, turn-in is very nice and changing lines is very little work. Did not notice the gearing change as much as I thought I would, but it does get through the gears quickly. The suspension is very nice now, much easier to live with, still have to check it out with Nora on board but feels much better. This afternoon, I went in search of some of the local twisties to test out the handling on some dry roads - awesome! Bottom line is I'm still a very satisified DucPond customer, if you want your Duc worked on and done right take it to DucPond"

One Ecstatic Hyper Owner

The HyperMotard is a very special Ducati. But don't take our word for it. This is what one happy owner had to say.

"I'm sure it's no surprise to you but this Hypermotard rocks!   I put about 220 miles on Saturday and another 50 on Sunday (I had other commitments). It completely met my expectations - like riding a 90 hp dirtbike on the road. It exceeded my expectations as far as comfort and transmission. Being able to slide back and forth on the seat makes a huge difference in terms of comfort endurance and the transmission is significantly smoother than my Japanese gearboxes.   It definitely lives up to the hype.

(I didn't realize you were a new dealer. I'm glad I drove the extra miles to Winchester. This was the best dealer experience I've ever had.  You definitely altered my dealer experience expectations!)"

Hello to Donnie, Friends, and Family…

"Just wanted to let you guys know how happy I am with the new Ohlins kit (25 mm internals and the DU515 shock) that you installed & dialed in on my 848. As Donnie accurately predicted as I was leaving, it really is a whole new bike. Between the fairly extensive suspension upgrades and the new Pilot Power 2CTs, I find myself – if not entirely rid of the Heartbreak of Chickenstrips, at least a lot further along than I’ve ever been before. The way the bike rides now is so much more confidence-inspiring (well, inspiring in general), in that hitting a bit of rough pavement on exiting a turn @ speed no longer involves crossing my fingers and hoping for the best; now, contact with the road is restored almost instantly, and I’m able to stay on the power – what a great feeling. Everything about the way the bike handles (let’s not forget hard acceleration and scrubbing speed in a hurry) is 100% improved… and that’s saying a lot, given that the bike’s pretty tight right out of the box. All of which is to say… serious appreciation is in order here, so thanks very much. If any of your customers are debating whether this is a worthwhile upgrade, feel free to share this with them: take a deep breath, stock up on the PB&J, and just say “Ohhhhhlins….” in your best Homer Simpson voice."
